Adult Acne

Acne is not just a problem for teenagers and young adults. Once a person survives the teenage years, you would think that they don't have to deal with the embarrassment of acne any longer, right? Well, not exactly.

The sad truth is that about 25 of women will have acne at some time in their 20s, 30s or even 40s. Although there has never been a real causes established, it is believed that most adult acne is caused by the same thing that causes teenage acne...hormonal changes.

A doctor will sometimes prescribe hormonal treatments that will clear a case of adult acne right up. As with teenage acne, adult acne is not caused by diet. Stress has often been cited as one possible cause of adult acne but that assertion has never been verified.

Treating adult acne is a bit more difficult than treating teenage acne. Adults have the concern of drying out their skin that teenagers don't normally have to deal with. Adults don't want pimples; but, they don't want wrinkles, either. A dermatologist should be consulted if the acne is long lasting or is severe.

There are many treatments that are available to adults who suffer from acne. Most of the effective treatments are only available by prescription. Adults should not use over-the-counter acne medications that are intended for the treatment of teenage acne. These products tend to dry the skin and adults need to be concerned about wrinkling as well as acne.

A case of adult acne is not a happy occurrence to say because those ugly bumps always seem to occur at the most inopportune times and while a teenager may be embarrassed by acne, an adult is even more devastated.

Fortunately, there are treatments and a dermatologist has a lot of weapons in his arsenal to fight adult acne.

Acne Skin Care

As we know, our hair follicles secrete sebum. Sebum makes its way up the hair follicles to the skin pores where it lubricates and protects the skin. Sometimes there are oil glands which get overworked, get enlarge, and produce too much sebum. The sebum can get trapped in the hair follicle. When this happens the pores get clogged and black heads or white heads form and the bacteria start to multiply at an alarmingly fast rate.

Once you understand this process, you can see the reasoning behind the advice about caring for skin that has black heads, white heads and pustules on it. The first piece of advice about caring for acne infected skin is to never pick at the pimples. Don't try to pop them and drain them. This will not cure them no matter what anybody tells you. Popping them will only serve to make them worse.

However, there are things that you can do that really will help. The first thing you can do is to wash your face with a mild soap or a sulfur based soap. Wash your face with just your finger tips. Don't ever use a wash cloth as it holds germs and bacteria. Rinse your face with clean water several times to ensure you remove all traces of soap, and then pat it dry with a clean towel. Do not rub your face with the towel and never use the same towel twice without it being clean.

Take a good multi-vitamin and multi-mineral supplement every day and drink at least 8 full glasses of water (not soda) every day. The vitamins and minerals will supply nutrients that are absent from most diets and the water will help to hydrate the skin as well as to flush toxins out of your system.

If you use over-the-counter acne medications, be certain that you follow the directions carefully and that you use a good sunscreen when you are outdoors as some acne medications make the skin more prone to sunburn.

Breast Enhancers For Woman

Women who want to get larger breasts but do not want to have a breast augmentation surgery have really no choice except to look to an herbal breast enhancer of some sort. Some women, however, are skeptical as to whether they will even work, while others have heard back things about herbal medications and choose to not trust them. When it comes to herbal breast enhancers, there are a few basic questions that women want to have answered.

Are They Dangerous?
There are certainly herbs out in nature that are not good for you, but there are also herbs that can help your body and that can make you feel better. After all, where do you believe that the basis for so many of our current over-the-counter and prescribed medications came from? Most herbal breast enhancers are absolutely safe for consumption, but it is always good to check with your physician, especially if you are on any other form of medication. While herbal breast enhancers are safe, your physician may have to adjust the medication that you are currently on in order to make sure that it works correctly still.

Does An Herbal Breast Enhancer Work?
It depends on the herbal breast enhancer you purchase. There are certainly some herbal breast enhancers that do not work, but then again there are plenty that do work. The trick to finding the ones that work is to do your research before you order. If you do not do your research, you may wind up with a breast enhancer that doesn't work for you. If you do your research, however, you can likely find reviews that will help you to purchase the right breast enhancer for you.

How Does It Work?
Not all herbal breast enhancers are the same, so it's difficult to say how every single one works. Basically, though, they work by either stimulating or simulating the hormone that causes breasts to grow when you are an adolescent. This causes your breasts to grow again and to make them more full and firm.

Where Can We Buy Herbal Breast Enhancers?
You can purchase herbal breast enhancers in a number of different places, but most women choose to buy them online, as they are generally less expensive. Make sure, though, that you purchase your herbal breast enhancers from a company that has a good refund policy, just in case that specific brand does not work well for you.

How do Breast Enhancement Pills Work?
Breast Enhancement Pills work by reactivating the mammary glands, therefore obtaining enhanced, larger, and firmer breasts. Breast enhancement pills are very effective, but work even better combined with breast enhancement creams.

How do Breast Enhancement Creams Work?
Breast Enhancement Creams work by stimulating the growth of the breasts thin tissues safely and efficiently, resulting in a larger, firmer and shapelier breast. According to many manufacturers the creams are more successful than the pills, since the ingredients do not lose power and effectiveness when absorbed. But a combination of both the breast enhancement creams and breast enhancement pills is the best. The main problem with breast enhancement products is finding a product that works. There are thousands of breast enhancement pills and creams out there, and most are scams. We are here to help you find the best breast enhancing treatments available. The breast enhancement products below were ranked and reviewed by women and professionals to help you find the safest, most effective breast enhancement products available.

Acne Scar Removal

Life hardly seems fair sometimes! First, a teenager or a young adult must suffer through acne, treat it, and have to live with it...sometimes for years. Then the acne is gone; but, the scars are there as a painful reminder of the mental and emotional agony the acne sufferer had to endure.

You're right, life doesn't seem fair; acne is one of those sad facts of life that some if not most of us have to deal with. The good news is, there is help but unfortunately, it isn't free or cheap!

There are two basic procedures that are used to remove ugly pits and scars left over from a bad case of teenage or young adult acne. Laser resurfacing is the least expensive of the two available acne scar removal procedures. Dermabrasion is the second procedure.

Laser resurfacing can be done in the dermatologist office instead of a hospital so that provides a much greater financial savings. A laser is used to remove the top layer of skin and also to tighten the middle layer of skin.

The dermatologist will use a local anesthetic to help reduce the procedure pain. It usually takes several days for the skin to heal after a laser resurfacing procedure is completed. Very often, multiple resurfacing treatments must be done to achieve the desired results.

The second procedure used to remove acne scarring is called dermabrasion. In this procedure, a rotating wire brush is used to remove the top layer of skin. The body continually produces new skin and the new layer will be smoother than the layer that was removed. It usually takes between 10 days and 3 weeks for the skin to heal after a dermabrasion treatment. Once again, multiple treatments may be required to eliminate the scarring.

Acne may seem to be a devastating condition but with proper skin routine, vitamins, and over the counter products, most cases will not be severe. Remember, proper cleansing goes a long way towards minimizing outbreaks, so don't be afraid to cleanse your face 5 - 6 times a day or more if needed.

Fight acne by being smart. Take as many preventative steps as possible to avoid situations that create the opportunity for acne to develop. If acne does afflict you, consult a qualified medical professional before deciding on a course of action.

Acne : The 8 Stages

Full blown, Stage 8 acne doesn't usually develop overnight. Acne is progressive condition. Acne is one of the diseases that are so common that it is sometimes just disregarded as a serious problem. It has been estimated that 95% of people will have at least a mild case of acne at some point in their lives.

Acne is usually treated by the sufferer with over-the-counter medications that alleviate the symptoms of the disease in the belief that it will simply go away all by itself, eventually. Most people throughout their life will have the occasional pimple, zit, white head or black head.

Although these pesky little outbreaks do seem to appear at the most inopportune times, they really aren't a serious problem that requires medical attention. A little over-the-counter acne facial wash to help prevent another outbreak will usually take care of the problem. This kind of acne is referred to as Stage 0 and really nothing to be concerned about unless the acne progresses to subsequent stages.

Acne stages are graded from 0 through 8. Zero is the least severe and 8 is the most serious of the stages. The stages are as follows:

Stage 1
There will be white heads and black heads with some mild inflammation. The outbreaks will start to occur more frequently. Using products that contain Benzyl Peroxide are in order.

Stage 2
There will be some papules in addition to the white heads and black heads. Papules are skin lesions that are solid and raised but usually small. This is still considered to be a very mild case of acne. Treatment can be continued using over-the-counter products that contain Salicylic Acid.

Stage 3
This is the same as stage 2 but with more frequent occurrences.

Stage 4 – 5
Pustules begin to appear. Now, it's time to schedule an appointment at a dermatologist.

Stage 6 – 7
Nodules and cysts are forming. Scarring is going to start happening at this stage. Your dermatologist will begin to take more drastic action.

Stage 8
Breakouts are almost continuous and include nodules and cysts. There are modern technologies that will help and your dermatologist will advise you.

Acne Vulgaris

What is Acne Vulgaris?
This is a medical term used to describe most cases of acne. It really isn't as bad as it sounds! Vulgaris doesn't mean that the acne is vulgar; it only that it means that it is common.

There are many factors that contribute to acne. First, research indicates a propensity for acne may well be inherited. Parents who had acne in their teenage and young adult years may have children who are likewise prone to having acne in their teen and young adult years.

Next, clogged skin pores are certainly a major contributing factor for acne out-breaks. When pores become clogged with an excess production of sebum and mix with dead skin cells or makeup that isn't sufficiently cleaned from the skin, problems start to develop. When skin pores are clogged, bacteria are produced and pus starts to form causing a pimple, a white head or a black head.

The most commonly accepted causes for acne are hormonal imbalances. Hormones in boys and girls may become unbalanced during puberty, during menstrual cycles, when starting or stopping birth control pills, during times of extreme stress, and at other times as well.

All of the above situations can cause the body to over produce a male hormone which causes the sebaceous glands to produce sebum. The sebum combines with dead skin cells to block pores and acne develops. So, basically, it still comes back to blocked pores.

Other causes for acne include a lack of vitamins, minerals and trace elements that the body needs to maintain a healthy skin. Vitamins A, E and B6 are especially important in maintaining healthy skin as are zinc, essential fatty acids (EFA), Chromium and Selenium.

Most diets of teenagers and young adults do not contain these vitamins, minerals, and trace elements in sufficient quantity to maintain healthy skin and to help prevent the onset of Acne.

Asthma Causes, Medication And Treatment

Asthma has dramatically risen worldwide over the past decades, particularly in developed countries, and experts are puzzled over the cause of this increase. The mechanisms that cause asthma are complex and vary among population groups and even from individual to individual. Many asthma sufferers have allergies, and some researchers are targeting common factors in both these conditions. Not all people with allergies have asthma, however, and not all cases of asthma can be explained by allergic response.

There are things in the environment that bring on your asthma symptoms and lead to asthma attacks. Some of the more common things include exercise, allergens, irritants, and viral infections. Some people have asthma only when they exercise or have a viral infection.

Genetic factors: asthma tends to run in families, and many people with asthma also have other allergic conditions such as rhinitis (inflammation of the nose lining). "Allergy" is a hypersensitivity to some proteins foreign to the body; a small dose of the "allergen" will produce a violent reaction in the person concerned.

Many people with asthma have allergic reactions to particles breathed in through the air, such as animal dander and pollen. These common substances are called allergens, meaning that they cause an allergic reaction. The tendency to react to allergens by having an asthma attack is probably genetic.

Treatment and care of asthma is directed toward immediate relief of the attack. Parents of asthmatic children may anticipate an approaching attack and medication that provides sedation and bronchodilation. The control of asthma depends on finding the cause and eliminating it. No smoking for adults who have asthma. There are two kinds of asthma medicines: those that relieve airway constriction and those that reduce swelling and inflammation like steroids. They are usually given via inhalers but pills are used as well. In some cases, studies have shown that coffee, can help relieve an acute asthma attack, supposedly because of the caffiene and heat.

Long-term control medications are taken daily to maintain control of persistent asthma. They primarily serve to control airway inflammation. The quick-relief medications are taken to achieve prompt reversal of an acute asthma “attack” by relaxing bronchial smooth muscle.

Accolate Oral Zafirlukast is used to prevent asthma symptoms and to decrease the number of asthma attacks in people 5 and older. It helps make breathing easier by reducing swelling (inflammation) in the airways. Regular use of this medication can help control your asthma, improve your ability to exercise, and decrease the number of times you need to use your rescue inhaler.

Long-acting beta-2 agonists (LABAs). These medications are part of a group of medications called bronchodilators, which open up constricted airways. Long-acting beta-2 agonists, such as salmeterol (Serevent Diskus) and formoterol (Foradil Aerolizer) last at least 12 hours. They're used to control moderate and severe asthma and to prevent nighttime symptoms. Salmeterol or formoterol should always be combined on a regular schedule with inhaled corticosteroids and should not be used as the main treatment for asthma.

Natural Home Remedies For Asthma

Asthma is an ancient Greek word meaning "panting or short-drawn breath". It is in allergic reaction due to one or more allergens. It is the most troublesome of respiratory diseases. The asthma patient gets frequent attacks of breathlessness, in between which, he is completely normal.

One of the most popular natural remedies is homeopathy. This can be given over many years without any fear of having any harmful reactions. There are also a number of herbs that can be used as an alternative asthma treatment. However, their ability will be proportionate to the capability of the herbalist who specializes in herbal medicines.

Figs (Anjeer) dry: Dry figs help clear mucus from bronchial tubes and are therefore a valuable food remedy for asthma. Phlegmatic cases of cough and asthma can be treated with success. It gives comfort to the patient by draining off the phlegm. Three or four dry figs should be cleaned thoroughly with warm water and soaked overnight. In china a powerful mixture of herbs called Shuan Huang Lian is being used in hospitals to treat respiratory illness, very important to use this herb in asthma and acute bronchitis.

The bark and leaves of the ginkgo tree are effective in the treatment of allergic sneezing and snuffling, and is also used in treatments for asthma. Many asthma attacks are caused by the same allergic reactions that trigger hay fever.

Licorice Root Tea
Make a tea by putting a teaspoon in a cup of hot water and steep for 10 minutes; strain. Drink one or two cups daily to relieve asthma symptoms. You can also find tea bags at many grocery or health food stores.

Grain alternatives

Indian gooseberry has also proved valuable in asthma. Five grams of gooseberry mixed with one tablespoon of honey forms an effective medicinal tonic for the treatment of this disease.

Adding fresh fruits and vegetables to the diet and decreasing both high-fat and high-sugar items also may be part of a process of natural asthma remedies.

Top 10 Male Enhancement Herbs

There are hundreds of different herbs that claim to do amazing things. If we’d to take them all, not only would we be super smart, but we would also have sexy skin, a six pack stomach, great hair, be an amazing lover, and all of the women would want us just by smelling our “pheromones.” I doubt that we can have all of that just by taking some pills, but as amazing and unrealistic as the claims are, there are definite benefits to certain herbs. We all know that Ginkgo is for mental alertness and Echinacea is for immunity strength, but what herbs are best for male sexual performance? We will discuss the top ten male enhancement herbs here.

1. GINKGO BILOBA LEAF - Ginkgo is commonly thought of as an herb to help with memory and brain function. Ginkgo works by expanding the capacity of blood flow through your veins and arteries therefore that effect benefits many parts of the body from the increased oxygen supply to the brain, which allows better brain function, to fuller and harder erections as more blood is supplied to the penis.

A few concerns with ginkgo are, because of the increased blood flow, those with bleeding disorders, especially those whose blood fails to coagulate on a wound, should take more precaution as more blood flow will slow the coagulation process. The second concern is for those who prefer ginkgo biloba seeds over the leaf. Uncooked ginkgo biloba seeds have shown some small levels of toxins, so if you prefer the seeds it is advised to cook them prior to ingestion.

2. EPIMEDIUM LEAF EXTRACT – The next herb is Eepimedium leaf or commonly known as horny goat weed. The origin of epimedium is from goat herders who noticed that when their flock ate the weed their sexual activity was noticeably increased, thus the name. Discovery Channel did a study on horny goat weed. They found that it is the number one most prescribed solution to sexual dysfunction by professional doctors in China. Although little is known about how horny goat weed actually works, it has shown significant increases in libido and vitality in both men and women, restore sexual function in men, and help with discomfort during menopause in women.

3. HAWTHORN BERRY – The hawthorn berry is another herb that is generally used to treat one concern, yet its benefits extend further. The hawthorn berry is primarily used to treat heart problems. It strengthens the heart allowing it to pump more blood. This, of course, translates into more blood flowing into your penis. Thus allowing for harder, fuller erections and increased pleasure from orgasm. A few concerns with the hawthorn berry are that studies show that it does lower blood pressure a little bit so if you have very low blood pressure you may need to consult with a physician.

4. SAW PALMETTO BERRY – The saw palmetto berry is commonly used for urological problems. The most common use for it is to bring an enlarged prostate back to regular size. However, most studies indicate that long term use (12 months or more) of saw palmetto also eased urination and increased sexual function significantly.

5. CATUABA BARK EXTRACT – The catuaba is a Brazilian, primarily in the Amazon rainforest, tree whose bark has been used for thousands of years as an all around nervous system revitalizer. It restores your nervous system function bringing about increased brain function, reduced nervousness, better sleep and improved sexual function. This is the herb that has helped the 60, 70, 80 even 90 year olds in Brazil have a healthy sex life naturally. There are 2 forms of catuaba tree that supplies the actual bark that is medicinally known for its benefits and the scientific names for these two is Erythroxylum catuaba and Trichilia catigua.

6. MUIRA PAUMA BARK EXTRACT – The muira pauma is another rainforest tree found in South America and Africa. This plant’s benefits also focus on the nervous system to treat various ailments such as paralysis, beri-beri, rheumatism, grippe, and cardiac and gastrointestinal weakness, baldness and sexual dysfunction, such as impotence, infertility and menstrual disturbances.

7. CUSCUTA SEED EXTRACT – The cuscata is commonly known as dodder plant and it is commonly used to increase sperm production and its fertility. New research has shown that it helps with treating impotence.

8. ASIAN GINSENG – There are several kinds of ginseng available on the market today, but the one that shows the most sexual function benefit is the Asian ginseng. It is commonly used to restore energy both physically and mentally and in sexual function it has a significant benefit in preventing premature ejaculation.

9. TRIBULUS TERRESTRIS – The tribulus terrestris is a plant native to the warm climates of southern Europe and Asia, throughout Africa and in northern Australia, although it is found in North and South America as well now. Its primary use is for the purpose of increased sex drive by restoring hormone levels to normal range, primarily testosterone.

10. DAMIANA – Damiana is found primarily in Central and South America. It is recorded being used as early back as the ancient Mayan civilization to prepare for lovemaking. Today it is used to relieve headaches, control bed wetting, better control of the muscles in the urinary tract, as an aphrodisiac and to enhance orgasms. You will find that all of the above herbs when taken alone will improve your sexual functionality, but when they are combined the effects are compounded.

Fight Infection With Echinacea

Natural remedies have become increasingly popular in recent years. People are now more aware of plants and herbs that have been around for a long time but have only recently started to be sold in main-stream stores.

One of these is Echinacea. This plant is believed to assist the human immune system in fighting infection by stimulating a specific portion of the immune system that attacks infection. Echinacea is native to North America and is commonly found throughout the central United States in prairie areas. It is known as coneflower and grows wild. It is also used in gardens in its ornamental form to attract butterflies.

It is usually an attractive purple and can also be used in flower arrangements. American Indians have known about the medicinal value of the flower for years. They called the plant snake root, since Echinacea has a thick, black root that resembles a snake. The root was also used by the Indians to treat snake bites as well as toothaches.

Once they had been exposed to European diseases such as smallpox and measles, Indians started using Echinacea to treat those afflictions as well. Scientists have not conclusively proven there are benefits to Echinacea. Research is still ongoing in the scientific community. Herbalists have their own studies that show the herb has a number of benefits with little side effects. The most likely side effect would be in the digestive tract. Any effect here is usually mild and temporary.

Some people might experience some slight upset when taking the herb, but this is very short-lived. Some people are allergic to Echinacea, so it is best to do a small test if you have not taken it before. It can be taken in pill form or as a tea. To increase the effectiveness, it is recommended that the supplement chosen be made from the whole plant rather than just the stems and leaves.

Hair Loss

Did you know that statistics show that 60% of men and 40% of women will undergo some type of hair loss by age 40?

Do you want to be a part of this statistic? Maybe you are just now starting to fit this category of folks who are noticing a thinning of their hair. You can rest assure that it doesn't have to continue. In fact you can actually promote natural hair regrowth of your hair and see it back in no time.

Many people just plain out ignore the truth behind regrowing their hair the natural way, so they miss out on the wonderful benefits that can be achieved.

Hair loss doesn't even occur for the many reasons that some believe. It can fall out for the simple reason that you're not getting enough of the right nutrients essential for hair growth. Lack of good blood circulation in the scalp also is another major contributing factor.

So you see to just say that heredity and genetics are the reasons for baldness is not valid, you have to attack a thinning hair problem from other angles.

Now these are just some of the causes of hair loss. Perhaps the biggest one to look out for would be the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Try saying that fast and you just might get tongue twisted. This hormone is responsible for doing so much damage to your hair that it just doesn't make any sense.

DHT binds to your hair follicle cells and stays there till they die. This is why you will notice a gradual thinning taking place either with your hairline receding, or in some other part of your head. Can it be stopped? Yes of course it can.

Natural hair regrowth can be obtained by blocking this hormone using saw palmetto extract. You can get this herb almost anywhere and it really does stop hair loss fast. You need to be sure to take 1,500 mg of it daily. Science has studied its effects on blocking DHT and this has been found to be the amount necessary for accomplishing this purpose.

Do You Have Fear And Anxiety?

Most illness comes from emotional or stressful conditions that we activate from within ourselves. This includes, of course, fear and anxiety. The job we have and the people we know or live with only serve to trigger specific feeling that you are sensitive to and this activates your fear, anxiety or stress. Anxiety and stress are a force that works on your body, organs or cells causing malfunction and deterioration.

Stress creates acid that resides in your cells and in your lymph liquid that surrounds your cells. An acid body breeds sickness such as cancer. Cancer thrives in an acid body Pathogens live and multiply in an acid body. Acid breaks down cell structures and tissue. The food you eat can contribute to an acid body or an alkaline body. Processed food creates acid in your body. Raw food reduces acid in your body and brings the state of your body to an alkaline condition.

So here is a start for you if you are interested in changing the level of your health.

Learn how to relieve stress and relax more frequently. You can do this by exercising, by working with a psychotherapist, and by using various brain relaxation tapes. You can do it by bring in more love into your life.

Learn what type of food you need to eat that will not create a lot of acid in your body. It is ok to eat acid foods but they have to be balance with alkaline foods.

Use natural remedies to relieve various conditions that you have so that you can get back to into balance. Then work on relaxation and eating naturally.

If you are on drugs start investigating how you can back off from these drugs and what alternative remedy there is that can partly take the place of your drug. Drugs create an acid body and destroy tissue.

Fear and anxiety come from suppressed traumatic memories or cellular memories, which are the cause of most diseases. What are suppressed traumatic memories and what do they do.

Well let first let me explain a little about how the body works. Under natural conditions, a cell moves in nutrients and releases toxic waste. In the cell it burns these nutrients to provide with you with energy, for repairing itself, splitting and creating new cells and performing all other functions that keep it and you health.

How a cell function is determined by the autonomic system. In this system, we have the para-sympathetic system and the sympathetic system. When your body is under the para-sympathetic mode, your cells and body are functioning normal and has a strong immune system to heal itself.

Under the sympathetic mode, your body is acting as if it is under attack and blood is pull from your organs and other areas that don't need much blood and is moved to the muscles so that you can deal with the attack. This attack is typical a dangerous or life threatening situation.

Body cells under the sympathetic mode are not functioning normal. Less blood is flowing in this area means less nutrients going into the cell and less toxic matter coming out of the cell. This is the condition that produces disease.

Many people feel that they are under a condition of constant attack - feeling fear and anxiety - even though they really are not. In this feeling of attack they express it as fear, stress, anxiety, anger, jealousy, and all types of negative behaviors.

People are typically under the sympathetic mode in which they are in automatic fight or flight mode. They are not even conscious of this because this is normal for them. When disease sets in, the cells cannot heal this disease since its immune system is weak and its cellular strengthen is gone from lack of nutrients and a build up of toxic wastes in the cells.

So work on your health and eat more alkaline foods and start on a stress reduction program.

How To Cure High Blood Pressure

7 Blood Pressure Secrets Doctors Won’t Tell You
Do you know how to cure high blood pressure with no medication? Most people would probably say to eat healthy (lower your salt-intake) and make sure you exercise. Unfortunately, most doctors tell you this and forget to tell you the other treatments you can be doing to lower your score and eventually be med-free.
The truth is that doctors are educated in medical schools were natural health and simple 'common sense' secrets are not taught. Unfortunately, medicine and antibiotics are only being taught because our medical industry is completely reliant upon pharmaceutical companies.

But new research is now showing the sometimes medicines are not the only treatment. In fact, some natural treatments are just as effective as their medicine counterpart.

Naturally Treat High Blood Pressure
High Blood Pressure Medications (Diuretics, Beta Blockers, Alpha Blockers, and Vasodilators) work because they lower your blood pressure. The problem is that they make it look that you are healthy but are your numbers showing the truth?

High Blood Pressure medications work because they synthetically alleviate the pressure of the arteries and blood. For instance, with diuretics the blood will become less salty (less thick) and your pressure with drop. Another example would be beta blockers which synthetically cause the heart to beat slower.

Though these medications look good on paper, they are NOT treating the disease known as the 'silent killer'. In fact, they could be prolonging your life but they will never fully treat the disease. And statistics show that users will eventually die from the high blood pressure. But what if you could naturally treat high blood pressure.

7 Hypertension Tips Your Doctor Won't Share with You
So you want to know, 'how to cure high blood pressure'? First, you need to know how to prevent high blood pressure holistically. Because curing high blood pressure starts with a holistic treatment. Holistically treating hypertension simply means using the 'whole' body to cure the problem. This is completely different than taking a pill to synthetically thin out the blood.

Arthrities

Regardless of the type of arthritis, the goals of arthritis treatment are similar.

These include the following:
• Relieve pain/inflammation

• Minimize risks of therapy

• Retard disease progression

• Provide patient education

• Prevent work disability

• Enhance quality of life and functional independence

While the goals are similar they are achieved using different approaches depending on the diagnosis. The effective management includes a combination of conventional medicines, effective alternative treatments, changes in diet and food, rest, exercise, lifestyle changes (e.g., weight loss if needed), and joint protection.

Factors involved in decision making include the diagnosis, the severity of disease, and the patient’s response to previous therapies.

The decision making doesn’t end there either. As a patient is followed over time, things change. What initially was felt to be an effective arthritis treatment may no longer be effective.
Side-effects may occur.

Additions and deletions of medications need to be considered. Drug interactions with other therapies are a concern.

Co-morbid conditions (other medical illnesses) enter into the equation. Newer therapies, when they arrive, may change the picture.

Patient preference, when it can be accommodated, should also be considered. And this dovetails with a patient’s lifestyle... The right therapy for a working man of 35 may not be the right therapy for a retired woman of 80. The correct arthritis treatment for a hard-driving executive may not be ideal for a laid back person who wants to use as many natural remedies as possible.
Finally, the ever-changing landscape of insurance issues plays a role... in my opinion, way too big a role in decision making.

In this section, I will discuss conventional therapies and arthritis treatment. A couple of examples...

Biologics Rheumatoid arthritis is a result of the complex interplay among cells called lymphocytes, cells called macrophages, and the messenger signals they communicate with, called cytokines. Biologic medications work by targeting these different areas. In essence, they work with laser-like precision on the immune system. This page discusses the use of biologics- the new wave in arthritis therapy.

Prosorba column Since rheumatoid arthritis is the result of cellular interactions that produce an excessive amount of destructive antibodies, it makes sense that removing some of these toxic influences may make rheumatoid arthritis better. That is the theory behind the use of the Prosorba column for treating rheumatoid arthritis.
And there is much more...

So make sure you check out specific therapies on the various site pages.

Acne Fact And Fiction

Do Stress, Facials and Concealer's Help to Promote or Reduce Acne Breakouts?

What is Acne? People have differing opinions as to what acne really is. Acne outbreaks are actually a disease of the skin. However, the great news is that acne is treatable. Although it can be very embarrassing, cause great emotional distress, and lower your personal self-esteem for a period of time, acne is not fatal.

There are new and effective treatments being sought by researchers and great advances have been made in the treatment of acne in the last few years. Years ago, when a person had acne, they were pretty much stuck with the problem. There were very few treatments available and the medical profession didn't even consider acne a disease.

New and very effective skin resurfacing treatments have been developed over the last several years that have, if not completely removed acne scars, at least diminished their appearance and severity.

Acne Fact or Fiction:

You can hear a lot of tell tales about acne today, so let's take a look at the fact or fiction of acne. It is always better to be well armed with factual information so that you don't get fooled by the fictional facts that surround acne.

Fictional Fact #1: Acne is caused by a lack of sexual activity.

Factual Fact: Acne and sexual activity are two entirely separate issues. One has no bearing on the other. Hormones secreted during puberty and young adulthood does have a bearing on acne. They also have a bearing on sexual arousal and activity. However, acne has no bearing on sexual activity nor does sexual activity have any bearing on acne.

Fictional Fact #2: People have acne because they are dirty.

Factual Fact: Dirt has no part in acne. Dirt is dirt. Acne is acne. One has nothing to do with the other. Acne is a build up of oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria. Dirt isn't involved. Keeping the face clean can and will help to prevent clogged pores but dirt does not cause acne.

Fictional Fact #3: Dermatologists can cure acne.

Factual Fact: Dermatologists can TREAT acne. They can help to alleviate the symptoms and help to clear up the pimples, black-heads, and white heads. They can prescribe antibiotics and topical ointments, lotions, and creams that will help but there is no cure at this time for acne.

Fictional Fact #4: Acne is simply a skin problem.

Factual Fact: It's true that acne affects the skin but it can also affect the way a person sees himself or herself. Acne and the scarring it can leave behind may cause a sufferer to become depressed and develop low self-esteem, both of which can lead to larger and more complex life socialization problems. Acne sufferers need the loving support and reassurance from their family and friends.

Acne and Stress:

Can stress actually cause acne? There is ample evidence available to suggest that stress can most assuredly cause an acne breakout or make an existing breakout worse. Our bodies are highly developed chemical laboratories that produce all sorts of stuff.

At puberty, our body begins to produce an abundance of male hormones and this happens in both boys and girls. This overproduction of male hormones can happen at other times in life besides puberty; for example, when a girl or woman starting or stops taking birth control pills.

These male hormones cause the bodies sebaceous glands to shift into overdrive and begin producing sebum. The sebum then travels up hair follicles, clogs the pores and begins the acne development cycle. However, male hormones are not the only cause for the sebaceous glands to begin producing an overabundance of sebum. When we become extremely stressed or overly emotional, our bodies react by causing the adrenal glands to produce a substance known as Cortisol, which is released directly into the bloodstream. Then the chemical chain reaction continues as the sebaceous glands release sebum, the sebum travels up the same hair follicles, clogs the pores and acne develops.

The physical changes in the body can cause exactly the same chemical chain reaction as the emotional changes in the mind. The mind/body connection is very real. Maybe some of it really IS in your head. If that's the case, there is help available to help people deal with the acne that is caused by stress. Reducing stress will just naturally reduce sebum production by the sebaceous glands and reducing sebum production will help to alleviate an acne breakout. Therefore, when you learn to reduce and control you stress levels, this part of the chemical chain reaction is minimized.

It really it isn't any different than restoring a hormonal balance to your body that reduces sebum production. So, in the final analysis, both factors that cause excessive sebum production should be addressed. Solving one problem might help; however, solving both problems could eliminate acne altogether.

Acne Facials:

If you are part of the 95 of the population who suffer from acne, you have more than likely seen TV or print media advertisements for acne facials. Have you ever wondered if there is anything to the claims that their manufacturers make?

In general, the answer is yes! Most acne facials are very effective, pretty much worth the price, and can be used in conjunction with your usual acne fighting regime. They won't necessarily replace any part of what you are already doing; but, rather enhance the overall effects.

You can find acne facials in most health stores, at many cosmetic counters, and online. As a matter of fact, you can probably complete a better comparison of available products online than you can anywhere else.

Most of these acne facial products provide for a three-step program. The first step is a complete facial cleansing. The next step is a steam massage. The final step is a facial mask. The first two steps are designed to prepare the face. The steam massage softens the black heads and the white heads to remove toxins from your skin. The facial mask serves to remove the dead skin cells from the face and to moisturize it as well. The overall effect of the acne facial is a very relaxing, calming, and cleansing experience.

The acne pimples, whether they are white heads or black heads should never be picked at or popped. If they are popped or picked, it can and normally does result is a scar that is much harder to get rid of than the actual pimple, black head or white head. Popping a pimple is not going to make it go away. In fact, popping a pimple is only going to make the acne worse.

Don't let acne control you; but rather, become smart and learn how to control the negative influences in your life that create a positive situation for acne to develop!

Neck Pain

Shrug off that pain from your neck

Do you spend your day working at a computer terminal? Are you on a phone a lot? Do you do a lot of reading at your desk? If your answer is yes to any of the above, you may have the tight neck syndrome.

You might not notice it but your arms maintain the same angle which is, bent at the elbow in an L shape, while performing all those different jobs. Unless you make a concerted effort to loosen up the muscles that hold your arms up, your neck and shoulders are bound to pay the price. Here’s some exercise to help you loosen the tension in your neck and shoulder. Repeat each step three to five times.

Side to Side
After you’ve taken some deep, slow breaths, ease into your neck-relaxing routine by looking from side to side, first over your left shoulder and then over your right. Then jut your chin forward and back, like a pigeon.

Shrug
Lift both shoulders up to your ears and straightening your spine, drop them as low as you can.

Roll
Make circle with each shoulder separately. Lift and roll forward; reverse. Do with the other for balance.

With your hands on your lap, gently drop your chin against your chest and roll your head in a circle from left to right and then from right to left.

Pull
Leaning your head toward the left shoulder, place your left hand on the right side of your head and the other on your right shoulder. Very gently, try to pull your head away from your shoulder.

Press
Tucking you head into your chest, clasp your hands against the top of your head. Make a semicircle with your chin, moving from shoulder to shoulder. Don’t actually press your head down; until you’ve loosened up enough, your muscles may be too tight to allow complete flexibility.

Stretch
Stand on your feet, pull in your stomach, raise your arms and try some imaginary rope climbing. Really reaching up, alternate arms.

Windmills
Swing each arm clockwise separately and then swing counterclockwise.

Pressure
Resume your seat and place your right hand against your right cheek, give some resistance to your face as your head turns toward your hand. Hold for two counts. Repeat on the left side. Be sure to make the turn as far as possible in each direction before reversing.

Massage
To round out your relaxation programme, grasp the back of your neck above the hairline and knead downward. Or, if you rather use both hands, press two fingers on each side of your neck and move down into the shoulders. Whenever you feel a knot, press more deeply.

Constipation

Many of us lead such busy lives that we hardly pay any attention to whether or not we empty our bowels daily. Constipation is a very common problem and its seriousness we sometimes fail to realize. Constipation causes abdominal discomfort, bloated stomach, excess wind and piles. It makes us spend longer time in the toilet, lost concentration at work, frequent headache and skin problems. If not taken seriously it may linked to more severe problems like high blood pressure, backache, arthritis and several common cancers. The severity of constipation often increases with age and by ignoring, it is not going to get better and can get worse if steps are not taken to eliminate it. Unless we clean out our colon, we can never prevent health problem that can shorten our life or make senior years a miserable time. To clean out the colon, we must first, move our bowels daily, preferably twice.

If you are suffering from constipation and wish to get rid of it once and for all, you must start by making a few lifestyle changes, including eating a diet high in fibre, drinking plenty of water and exercising. If the diet lacks fibre, there’s not enough bulk to push wastes through the colon. Even though diet is a major cause of sluggish colon, simply eating better food is not the solution. Many who have switched to a natural raw food, properly combined diet, would still be constipated, as faecal matter has become so hardened and thickened that diet alone won’t do the trick. When this happens, taking a safe herbal tea to aid the elimination, and high fibre supplement often works miracles to restore regular bowel movement.
